If you notice coffee or water leaking from the from your SENSEO® coffee machine, there might be a simple solution to solve the issue. Use these possible causes and solutions to solve it yourself.
Where does the leakage occur?
Identify where the leakage occurs, using the image below.
Is the SENSEO® coffee machine leaking from the spout or brew head (1)? Go to solution 4, 5, 6 and 7
Is the SENSEO® coffee machine leaking near the bottom (2)? Go to solution 1, 2 and 3
1. Too much water in the water reservoir
Do not fill the water reservoir beyond the MAX indicator to prevent it from overflowing. Resulting in excess water ending up near the bottom of your SENSEO® coffee machine.
2. The drip tray is full
Make sure to empty the drip tray of your SENSEO® coffee machine regularly to prevent it from overflowing.
3. The water reservoir is cracked or broken
If the water reservoir is cracked, damaged or broken you can order a new water reservoir at the Philips Online Shop or contact us for further assistance.
4. The coffee pod is not placed correctly
Place the coffee pods with the convex side downwards in the center of the pod holder to ensure a good coffee flow.
5. Rubber seal ring is stuck
Make sure that the rubber seal ring is correctly placed around the rim of the water distribution disc.
6. The pod holder is clogged
Clean the sieve in the center of the pod holder with a brush and warm water or clean them using the dishwasher. If the sieve is still clogged, descale the pod holder by placing it in a descaler solution and let it soak for 30 minutes.
7. The coffee spout is clogged
Disassemble the coffee spout of your SENSEO® coffee machine and clean all parts with warm water or clean them using the dishwasher.
