My Philips Steam generator leaks when I turn it on

If your Philips Steam generator is leaking when you switch it on there might be a simple solution. Discover how to solve it yourself.

Step 1.

Make sure the steam lock is not engaged.

See pictures of steam lock location on iron (highlight in red circle).

Step 2.

After switching on the power, wait for 2 to 8 minutes before pressing the steam trigger.

Step 3.

Before ironing your garment, it is always start by steaming a piece of rag. Only start ironing on your garment when there are no more water droplets.

This step is only necessary at the first time use or when you have not used your appliance in a while. When water condensed inside the steam supply hose during cooling down.
