Will my Philips DVD burner work with Windows 7/Vista?

Published on 2017-02-28

Yes, you can use your DVD burner with Windows 7 and Windows Vista.

There is no special driver software needed.

The supplied software (“Nero Essentials”) is not compatible with Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Windows Vista already includes its own standard built-in functionality to burn CDs. You do not need additional software to burn CDs. To allow you to burn DVDs, alternative software can be found online. This is free and offers similar functionality (like Nero 9 Lite).

Windows 7 already includes its own standard built in functionality to burn CDs/DVDs. You do not need additional software for that. However, the Internet currently offers alternative software which is free and offers similar functionality (like Nero 9 Lite).

The information on this page applies to the following models: DVDRW824K/00 .
