Jakarta, Indonesia – Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA), a global leader in health technology, and Indonesia’s Ministry of Health today signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen the transformation of Indonesia’s healthcare system through clinical capacity development, digital health innovation, and the development of training center and service hub.

Secretary General

Secretary General of the Ministry of Health RI, Kunta Wibawa Dasa Nugraha (Front, right), and Astri R. Dharmawan, President Director of Philips Indonesia (Front, left), signed the MoU on June 18 2025 at The Ministry of Health office in Jakarta, Indonesia. The signing was witnessed by The Minister of Health RI, Budi Gunadi Sadikin (Back right), The Netherland Ambassador to Indonesia, Marc Gerritsen (Back left) and Chief of International Region and member of the Royal Philips Executive Committee, Özlem Fidanci (Back center)

The MoU lays the groundwork for national programs in clinical skills development—specifically in radiology, cardiovascular and interventional care—as well as technical servicing and digital health integration. This initiative aims to enhance long-term health system resilience and enable more equitable access to high-quality care throughout Indonesia.

“The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with Philips reaffirms the Ministry of Health's commitment to continuous innovation in healthcare services. Through this collaboration, the Ministry aims to promote the adoption of advanced health technologies and digital health infrastructure. This initiative represents a vital investment in building a more resilient and globally competitive healthcare system for Indonesia’s future," said the Secretary General of Ministry of Health Republic Indonesia, Kunta Wibawa Dasa Nugraha.

Key areas of focus for the proposed collaboration:

1. Clinical Capacity Building and Skills Development, particularly in the areas of radiology, cardiovascular care, and interventional procedures. Philips and the Ministry of Health will develop comprehensive training programs to enhance the capabilities of healthcare professionals in Indonesia.

2. Training Center & Service Hub to support lifecycle management of medical devices, ensuring optimal performance, and expand access to technology across Indonesia's healthcare system.

3. Digital Health to enhance the service quality, strengthen system integration, and improve operational efficiency nationwide.

This MoU serves as the foundation for a long-term collaboration between both parties. Future specific programs will be outlined in the form of technical cooperation agreements with the relevant directorates, including the Directorate General of Primary and Community Health, the Directorate General of Continuing Healthcare and the Directorate General of Health Human Resources.

“We’re excited to work with the Ministry of Health to support healthcare transformation and enhance the capacity of Indonesia’s healthcare system,” said Astri R.
