Soundbar Home theater

Use this instead of the speaker system my television has & without fail it impresses. Easy to use features & a sleek remote round out the peripherals. Not to mention the simple 2 speaker system contributes this unit's success.

Pros: Overall the performance is power packed. Crisp and clear sound. Very powerful bass from the subwoofer. Easy to setup. No messy wires and Organised nicely. Cons: The media player response is very slow. When you change a song or video it takes Long time to go to next. Cannot remove the cable from subwoofer that connecting to head unit.

I purchased this sound bar because I don't have alot of room and I loved the look of it. Unfortunately, the picture skips/hesitates when playing dvds. It doesn't matter what dvd it is. It is extremely annoying. But I will say the sound is good.

The sound bar looks cool and plays dvd's and music cd's well but the Ipod dock wasn't very sturdy and it broke about a year into use. We have a Phillips flat screen TV that the Sound bar is connected too however we have had issues with the sound in a movie being delayed, meaning doesn't match up to the people speaking, and when you have the volume up on both the TV and the Sound Bar it sounds as if one is a cave or a barrell. Why does this stuff happen, shouldn't they sync together since they are both Phillips products?

I like the features available, such as the iPod doc, AM/FM Radio, and built in DVD player. System, however, lacks performance. "Surround" sound is not good. System also has a sound syncronization issue, especially when watching DVDs from the built in DVD player. As the movie plays, the sound gradually lags behind the picture. The longer the movie goes, the more significant the lag in sound. Sound also falls out of sync when switching between inputs on the system (switching from onboard DVD, to TV, to Dock, etc). Slide panel (for DVD access) is now very slow to respond. System has "hung" on several occasions, requiring the power to be reset.

I had high hopes for the unit and even jumped the hoops to get a replacement unit when the 1st one quit working entirely after 3 wks. The HDMI output is not recognized by Samsung or Panasonic, just somewhat better with my Gateway monitor. Unplugging the unit would occasionally make it work but it should not be this painful.

The unit worked well for about a year and then died. It was no longer under warranty so there was no recourse
