Radio Portabel

Radio only used at night for couple of hours, never left on. Batteries last 10 -14 days! I thought the first one was faulty, liked it so much I bought another...same thing.!! I have bought portable radios all my life (I’m in my 70s) and never had a portable radio that goes thro batteries so QUICKLY! I do not have radio on loud! Nor switch stations or anything else that could account for wearing out batteries so fast!! I do NOT recommend this radio because of this fault.

fits snugly in the palm. tuning wheel not smooth but all transistor radio are same same

Very affordable & portable. Sound quality is great! Recommended if you need a cheap, portable & compact radio device.

Good sound and radio reception. The placement of the audio jack let it down. Being on the side meant that the radio was difficult to place in a pocket as jack and cable were not flush fitting. To place the jack on top would have been ideal.

Very well priced, and a great little radio, with the exception of battery performance, which is very poor. The batteries run out far too quickly.

As others have mentioned this radio chews through batteries, sometimes stops working then miraculously works again. Love it when it’s working. Really bad for the environment because of batteries needing replacement after a few days.

It's like a sports car. Looks good uses battery's like every 10 hours max just drops out. not good for regular radio listeners.

I originally purchased one a couple of years ago but after a week of occasional use it would not provide any volume although I could hear a click when it was turned on. The retailer replaced that radio but the same thing occured so I got a refund. Recently I thought I would try again as the compact size is very suitable. The same thing happened - using brand new Duracell batteries only produced about 30 hours before sound is lost. I have tried 14 Duracell batteries but the radio would not last beyond about 30 hours. My battery tester showed the batteries still had "good" power. Contacting Philips Sound/Gibson resulted in a series of emails but basically they shrugged their shoulders and said "tough, that is the way it is - go get a refund". No one seemed very interested and of course no agent in Adelaide who they could get to test my radio. A very poor effort, all told!!

Purchased brand new about 4 weeks ago. Won’t stay on. Just stops. Thought it chewed through the batteries at first but just stops working for no reason. Can’t get it going again now but has a mind of its own. Tried batteries again and also am but no. Avoid purchasing.
